A look back at one of our most colourful construction hoarding projects
Located at one of Toronto’s landmark corners, developer Westbank looked to call attention to their upcoming Mirvish Village project at Bathurst and Bloor.
About Mirvish Village
Mirvish Village is an innovative project that is meant to continue to serve as a centre of the community—a living room for the neighbourhood. At street level, there will be new pedestrian laneways and public spaces, and anchoring the site, a public market featuring the best of Ontario’s local food entrepreneurs, artisans, and daily live music. Inspired by the bazaar-like quality of Honest Ed’s, Westbank hopes this market becomes a gathering place and living room for all Torontonians. (Westbank, 2018).
Construction Hoarding Meets Pink!
Showcasing beautiful creatives from local multidisciplinary artist Naomi Moyer, along with future project renderings, aluminum composite panels [ACP] were chosen for the bottom section of the graphics installation. Strong and lightweight, the panels allow for brilliant graphics to stand out. An additional layer of the anti-graffiti laminate was added for protection, enhancing the long-term viability of the art.
The upper section of the hoarding structure was prefabricated, allowing for the affixing of impact-resistant acrylic panels that were cut to size. Before being installed, we printed directly to the acrylic, using our AGFA flatbed printer. The result was a stunning display of imagery at one of Toronto’s most famous corners.
About Construction Hoarding
Construction hoarding is a barrier between a construction site and the public. Although its main purpose is to keep people safe, it also helps to keep your project hidden until you are ready to reveal it!
A great construction hoarding design is important for generating hype and interest around your project as well as, maximizing impressions among your audience.
For this Pretty in Pink project, our team recommended the Aluminum Composite Panel [ACP] hoarding material. Since this project is to take four years to complete, this hoarding material is best for a long lifespan, durability, and weatherproof/water resistant conditions.
